With a wax intended for ferrules, now wipe a soft filt cloth through the wax paste, then apply it arroudn the male ferrule parts on any section of the rod. More is better right now. Work the cloth with ferrule wax well around the ferrules, ensuring that the wax graps hold also on any scratches, inlets, or compromizations on the ferrule parts there might be.
Then leave the rod parts to dry for a day.
These two wax types are from Deutsche D.A.M. Wachs für Rutenoberflächen translates into wax for rod surfaces, while Wachs für Ruteneinschübe translates into wax for rod ferrules. The first one is white and softer in its texture, and the ferrule wax comes in a graphite colour and is harder when compared to the former. I came over these years ago and they work marvels when caring for the high-end rods in today´s trade.
